Finnicky BTA

Headache

New member
I recently purchased a small tan BTA to go along with my ocs. clownfish. Its been in the tank for 2 days now and is acting extremely finnicky.

Ive read alot of research hear but have missed out on one detail: How many days should i expect it to act wierd as a result of coming home from my LFS? NOTE: Water parameters are excellent, including SG at the desired 1.026 area. Flow is present, but not overboard, lighting is 12k CF, so not too yellow.

For clarity, the anenome is contracting often, but is open when i find it in the morning, BEFORE i turn the lights on, moving once per night and is exhibiting what i believe to be "light shock", contracting when they come on. I'm just not sure if these activities are normal for a "new home" or if there is an underlying problem.

Thoughts?

Pictures would be a good start for help.
Also, what type of lights do you have on the setup and position of the BTA....
Size of the clownfish and the BTA. Should be bigger 3x bigger than the clowns.
If there contracting sometimes its when there going to let out a number 2.
However if something is bother it that can be also.
You should have your tank running for about 6-8+months before adding a BTA.

It can take over a week for an anemone to acclimate depending on how much it's been through before you got it and how different conditions are in your tank compared to where it's been. BTA's acclimate faster than some other species. Since you have very good water quality, just try to be patient with it. It will probably be okay.
