all other zoas and palys in my tnak are doign fine

they are in med flow under med light

tank is a 29 gallon with a 150 DE halide

params are:
salinity:1.026
ph:8.2
nitrate/ammonia/nitrite:0
alk:300KH
ca:410

i haev nto seen any predators around, it is a small frag, about 16 polyps, i got it when it was 12...

any help would be great

thanks in advance!

My first though is a predator as well. I'd give it a 5 minute freshwater dip and see what falls off.

Sounds like a predator and they can blend in quite well. I had a fire and ice colony go from 50 polyps to about 5 due to nudis. They blended into the skirts so well I didn't realize I had them until someone suggested a FW dip. Good luck!

Dumb question alert:

Is a freshwater dip just where you dip the coral in plain RO water?
I've lost 2 zoa frags recently, maybe I should try this.

Yes that's correct, but RO water is not necessary, tap water is fine IMO.

dip done, only saw 2 tiny pods, and a small flat bug looking liek a flounder, only no bigger in diameter than a needle

there were no noduis that i could see, btu any bugs are dead now, ill tell you how it goes in a few days

it might have been, i only saw one of them

but the colony is opened now...

btu ive had an orange people eater colony doing the same thing, another FW dip, nothing came off but some pods, and stil is closed....

been closed for a month and a week or so... still good color, no die offs... very werird
