Fire Fish....

I picked up an elegant fire fish a while back. Finally got him out of QT and in my DT. But I havent seen the guy in a week... How long should I wait before pulling apart rockwork looking for a floater?

Ive went as far as waiting till lights out and checking a few times with a flashlight with no luck. Overall its a very peaceful tank. Id like to think it didnt get picked off.

Fish include;
2 clowns
Diamond Goby
2 chalk bass
PJ cardinal
Coral Beauty

Firefish are super skittish.. i have mine for about 3 months now. I rarely see him

If it were me, I'd probably send out a search party...

These fish have been known to be jumpers, so you might want to check the floor around your tank too.

Never move your rockwork looking for anything that's not viciously eating your livestock. YOu can kill whatever it is by accident. And if it is dead you wouldn't find it because the worms got it within 12 hours of its demise. You MIGHT use a mirror and a flashlight to search from the outside to see if he's behind rockwork. Also look on the floor behind your tank, and in your downflow and sump: they're notorious jumpers.
