Fire Sale: 125g tear down

Chuck,

I bought a rim for an AGA 125 a few years ago (I put it on my 135)-- it was about $60-65 with shipping (a full rim piece-- they also sold them in 2 pieces-which had cheaper shipping)-- the rim fit my 135-- I checked one out at a LFS and found the slot the top of the glass fits in was wide enough for the 1/2" thick glass on my 135-- the outside dimensions were the same on a 125 as my 135-- my rim didn't break-- the previous owner of my tank cut them out because they didn't like the shadows.... the tank bowed too much for my liking

I believe Marie bought one about the same time for about $40 from some place local-- I forget where.... lemme see if I can find the thread.

Here is the thread-- http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=804784&highlight=rim

she called it-- Salty??? Salty Critter maybe??

http://www.saltycritter.com/

I bought mine from some place in Long Island NY or NJ online-- it was about the same price as Marie's, the shipping was expensive because of the size (not the weight)-- if you need me to find the place I probably can-- send me a PM as I don't check this board too often.

Bill

Rim for 125g

I did buy it at Salty critter. I had to special order it, took about 4-5 days to come in. Take some money if you go there, or leave it and the credit cards at home! You will want to spend everything you have with you when you walk in that store!!
Their hours have changed since the last time I was there, so you may want to ask when you call to order the rim.
Just read through that old post Bill, I didn't have a clue then, did I????

Getting ready to start a125g in-wall project. I have a closet between my "office" and my living room. Going to install the tank so it can be viewed from either side. Unfortunately there is an old chimney in the closet that goes through the roof of the first story part of the house that has to come down. After that, it should be a piece of cake. I think it will look awesome! Going to get a new tank, and just build everything while the other one is up and running, then sell the old one, or maybe make it into my sump??
Anyways, i hope things are going well for you Chuck, let us know if you have any problems or questions. If you need help, I could always stop over, at least while I am on the day shift!!
