Fire Shrimp in 2.5 Gal?

What does everyone think? I have heard mixed reviews. I def. don't want to crowd the shrimp hence the reason I am asking. If not a Fire, how bout a Skunk? I know a Sexy would be fine, but not my preference. Please don't worry about hurting my feelings...

I have a fire shrimp in a 65g, and he uses every bit of that tank. Also, he's big--probably takes up a 4" space including antennae. I wouldn't put one in a 2.5g. Equally important is that they are somewhat nocturnal, and require caves and overhangs to be happy. I assume if you are keeping a pico, it's because you want to spotlight an animal that will be visible most of the time, and happy in those conditions. The skunk cleaner (which I also have) is also large and mostly nocturnal.

You might consider a few bumble bee shrimp (Gnathophyllum americanum). Although their preferred diet is starfish, the literature suggests that they will eat most meaty foods. Also, you can keep a few in a 2.5g, they are brightly colored, and they are not nocturnal.

I went through this thought process too with my six gallon. Look up pedersons shrimp or lined anemone shrimp.

Much smaller. Adorable.

Thx for the replies. I figured it wasn't enough room. I will look into other alternatives, aka pederson shrimp. Thanks all!
