Firefish in a 10Gallon?

Hi Folks,
I'm new to the hobby and have just started up a 10gallon nano. It's been running for about three weeks now, and the levels are all good. I was thinking of getting a small firefish for my tank.

Do you think this is a good idea?
Is there any other fish that you would recommend?
What's the max number of small fish I should keep?

Here are my parameters:
10Gallon, 20lbs live sand, 15lbs live rock, ~200gph total using a penguin filtration with a powerhead, five turbo's and two red-legged hermits.
I plan to add some Zoo's, mushrooms, and possibly xenia in the near future (Next week?)

Should I wait for my parameters to restabalize with the above stuff before I put the fish in? or put the fish in first?

You can ofcourse add a firefish to your system. There are many other fish which will be fine in a 10gal tank such as shrimp gobies, clown gobies, clownfish, blennies, etc.
The number of the fish you can keep is related with their kinds. You can keep at least 3-4 small gobies in a 10gal tank such as trimma or gobiodon species. On the other hand, 2 clownfish can create more waste than 4 gobies.

I have a couple of clowns and a firefish in my 12G Aquapod. You'll be fine with a couple of small fish like a firefish. ~Matt

What about the wait time? Is it okay with the new corals? Will i be overloading the system?
By the way, I don't have a skimmer for my tank.

I personally would not add more than a small goby to a ten gallon tank. A firefish will do alright. just buy a small one to watch it grow. I would rather keep a clown goby in a ten becauser they seem more at home in such a small tank. But thats just my opinion.

definitely wait for your parameters to stabilize, I would also make sure that you have a hood on. firefish are known jumpers and a small tank will only compound this problem
