Firefish in QT has a single bump on skin

Firefish has been in QT for about 2 weeks now, observation only, no medications. He has one small bump on his skin on his back just before he transitions to orange. It is the size of a period in this sentence. The bump is white and his skin is white. I don't know if the white of the bump is his skin or if it has it's own color. Otherwise his skin is perfect, as are his fins. His behavior is normal, not scratching himself or hiding. Good appetite. As far as I know the bump has been there since I got it, although I did not notice it until a few days after I brought him home. The way he sits in the current that side is not visible.

Any concerns or ideas what this could be? Not knowing what it is I have not done anything to treat. It may just be a physical thing, not a disease I suppose. Thanks for your comments.

I had a firefish that had a similar bump. Then his dorsal fin started to deteriorate and one night I saw him sweep into his sleeping hole and I never saw him again. Sorry if this is grim news. Ive never had luck with these guys. Hopefully its nothing and hell be fine.

It could be Lympho or a minor infection. If you were seeing more than one "bump", I'd say it's possibly Ich or Velvet and you'd be wise to treat. Which BTW, Firefish are great candidates for TT due to their small size. I've QT'd several that way.

Okay, thanks for the replies. I'll just keep watching him in the QT, hopefully it improves on it's own. If it doesn't change I'll assume it is not growing/contagious and will put the fish in the DT. Thanks again.
