Hi.

Yesterday while feeding with frozen artemia, i noticed a large worm appearing from the rocks.. was a couple of inches long a light greyish body, white beared / dusters on the side and with orange colors on the dusters.

It looks like this one.

Now.. on google its indexed as a fireworm, but i have seen other pictures of fireworms which are more orange and have completely orange ends.. So im in doubt if what i have is simply a harmless garbageman or a possible painful experience aka fireworm.? Anyhow.. should i remove it or keep it?

thanks.

I have seen a few bristle worms in my tanks usually at night. But nothing with that kind of color. Mine are the typical pink worms and are not very big. May be helpful if you can get a pic of it unless it looks exactly like the one have in your post. If you can drop a pellet or put some food near the area, it may come out long enough for you to get a pic.
As far as painful, I think any bristle worm poses a risk of a painful experience if you come into contact with it.
Here's a great site I found on RC sometime ago. Hope it helps!
