So I purchased my first anemone today. And I'm pretty sure I made a few mistakes. I acclimated for an hour using the 2-3 drops/second method. Then, I noticed the rock it came on was too big to fit in the tank. There was also what looked like a gorilla crab and a mystery bristleworm, so I attempted to take the anemone off using the ice cube method. 20 ice cubes, and ~2 hours later, the thing finally fell off the rock into the water. I didn't leave it out to dry for 2 hours, and did periodically let it soak in saltwater, but I feel that I stressed it out too much. I don't think I ripped the foot, but may have scraped it in some places. I put the anemone on the desired place, and cut the pumps for tonight to keep it from rolling everywhere in the tank. Tomorrow, I plan to feed with live 4 day old brine shrimp, or maybe a small piece of regular shrimp. I just feel that the way I handled the anemone was wrong...what are the chances of it surviving?
