First attempt at Coral shots (point & shoot camera)

Well after looking at so many of awesome pics, ive decided to try some of my own. Please be gentle in your remarks as this is my first attempt and taken with a point and shoot camera (panasonic DMZ-TZ5) but critic and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. These pics have no retouching done to them (since i wouldn't know where to begin anyway) Just cropping (obviously). I am planning on picking up a better camera after the new year but this will have to do for now. Also would just a Tripod with this camera be worth getting OR wouldn't make any difference? Thanks for looking and commenting. Please tell me my best pic (even if i know they are far from good) so I can learn to work from there. Sorry about all the pics (i kinda went crazy to at least get one good shot).

Looks to me like you have this pretty well figured out - nice pics!

Using a tripod and a self timer can help with any macro shot and its not like it is wasted money. You can use it now with this camera and later on should you upgrade. If I could pic just one accessory to have, I think it would be a good tripod.

Thanks. I'll definatly get a tripod this week. Like you said it won't be a waste since i'll use it when a get a real camera as well thanks again

looks good for a start.
A tripod would definitely help as it would allow you to work with slower shutter speeds which will allow you to lower your Iso that is causing some noise in the pictures.
I would also suggest shooting perpendicular tot he glass as it'll take out some of the distortion you're getting.

Going crazy to get one good shot is okay, but that doesn't mean you post them all. Your only "allowed" to post 8 per thread anyway and you showed 10 in the first post. Now some of them look okay, but if you want us to tell you how to make them better, pick 1 or 2. There is no way I'm going to go through all of those.

Just repost the one you would like critiqued and we'll give you suggestions.

EDIT: Oh an post the originals with EXIF data, the current images don't tell the story of what you did. PhotoFUNstudio deleted all of the precious information.
