. . . and posting pics btw, so bear with me if there's problems :)

Here is the stand and hood for our new tank. It's a starphire front 60 cube w/ "coast to coast" rear overflow.

and part of the hood:

I tried to make the hood modular so it can be taken off, and it hinges at two points; one can be used for everyday activites, but then I can open the main part when I have to reach in or change lights and stuff

Thanks for looking, and any suggestions would be appreciated

Pete

Oh and here is a shot w/ one of the the prefab doors:

The stain is a close match, but it will be tucked between the couch and fireplace in the living room, so the base will be fairly dimly lit.

This is the part that will be permanently mounted to the tank:

I joined all the solid stock with biscuits. The hard part was clearing out the lip around the bottom so it will sit over the edge of the glass and hide the water line. I only have a crappy trim router and it doesn't have a fence allowing me to get enough out, so I had to chisel most of it out

Please excuse the mess ;)

Thanks guys. . . we thought that we'd give the ebony stain a try for the hood in order to avoid a country-type look. I was sort of locked into oak stock as that's what the chain places have available.
