First clam. Is this gaping?

Hard for me to see in the pics you posted (yes best I can tell) but this is what gaping refers to (image sourced from internet).

 
Sorry for the bad photos. It's extremely hard to get a decent photo on the clams intake based on where its located

Best to just turn the blues off when trying to take a pic like that but it is more visible in those pics. Not unusual for the first day as it acclimates to your water but if goes any longer you most likely have some issues with your water (or it was hurting at the time of purchase).

I actually went as white as I can with the kessils haha. But anyway I actually picked it up a week ago to the day and it only started fully opening within the last few days. So I'm assuming that's a good sign and it also reacts to the hand over the light.
When I bought it I actually took a chance on it as it wasn't fully open at reefapalooza but it was a good price. So there's a chance it was already hurting but we'll see what happens. I'll try to keep updates coming.

The clam must have rotated itself a bit so I was able to get a better top down shot.
