I just purchased a clam from my local dealer and its a corcea. I have a 55 gallon tank that is 24" deep. My lighting setup is VHO's. My question is how high should the clam be from my lighting. any help greatly appericated.

Hello
I myself did not have success with the VHO lamps and clams. I upgraded to Metal Halide just to be able to keep these awesome creatures. I have tried all tank positions with VHO with no success. They eventually degrade over time. Just my opinion though. Good Luck to you, I hope you prove me wrong in your tank.
the crocea is the most light demanding of clams and needs metal halide for long term health, i would place it as high as possible in your tank, make sure to target feed him DT's every few days as well.
Agreed. Place it with just a few (2 or 3) inches directly under your daylight bulbs to give it the best chance. Metal Halide lamps are theonly way I would keep one.
