first clam

i just got my first clam yesterday.it is very small only about 1.5" long.i was wondering if anyone would could give me some care info for this clam.it is in a 38g tank under a 150 MH 10k about 20" away from light.all tank numbers are good,Ca 435 ppm,Alk 4 meq/L,Mg 1330 ppm,Ph 8.1,and salt at 1.026.i did buy phyto to feed it.is there anything you guys would recommend to help promote growth in this clam.also i forgot what kind of clam it is so help with ID for me please.

At first there was no pic of a clam,now the pic dont work at all.So an id will be impossible.Other than that your parameters are ok for a clam,but as for light there are low light clams,& high light clams,but with no pic to tell u, well u know.
 
Looks like a maxima to me. Derasa has a smoother shell. Maxima's like a lot of light so place it high in the tank and feed phyto. Nice clam by the way.
 
yeah those scutes are a dead givaway for a maxima, and the uper mantel shape looks like a maxima too, hope you have good water params, cuase maximas are the hardest to keep..... good luck and nice looking clam
 
That is a Maxima. He should be fine. Make sure that there are no parasitic snails on him, and Calcium/Alkalinity high and he should do very well in your tank under the 150 MH.
