First few macro shots - Not dialup safe!

In Memoriam
I just bought the Sigma 105 Macro lens for my old Nikon D70 and played around with it for a little while last night.

Please feel free to critique my images since I have quite a lot to learn.

I didn't bother with the white balance since I was mainly looking for sharpness at this point. To my surprise, I could get sharper pics out of my 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens than the Sigma macro. Maybe I'm doing something wrong don't know.

Anyways feel free to use these images as you please :D

This last one was with my 50 mm 1.8 lens:

Contructive criticism is always welcome!

The cam did pretty well on auto. The pictures look good. What were your settings? The DOF looks almost toooo great, I'd like to see the rocks and suck behind the corals OOF.

I was hoping the exif info would copy over to photobucket. How can I get that accomplished?

Here are the settings for each pic starting from the top.

very nice, that must be quite the camera to take amazing shots like that!

In this case yeah....70% camera and 30% operator ;)

I love the 50mm 1.8. Extremely sharp and for the money it's hard to beat. I think I paid like $120 from wolf camera brand new.

To be honest it is the sharpest lens I have. BTW, the Sigma 105mm macro is going back to the store tomorrow. The images are way too soft.

I've seen the Nikon 105mm first hand and it kills the Sigma, but it's $900 (ouch!). I have better things to do with my money at this point :-)
