First fish

I put 2 clowns in my tank on Wednesday. It seemed like they were swimming rapidly but I figured that was just fish. This morning one of the clowns was swimming on it's side and the other was just swimming. They are the first fish to go in my tank. ould the one swimming on it's side be near death? Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clowns can swim like their drunk a lot of the time. Especially young percula.
but if it's steadily swimming on it's side that's not a good sign. Did you get them at a local LFS?

Yes, and it wasn't a good sign, I cannot find one of them. I believe he has went to fish heaven. I was skeptical about getting the fish. But it's ok. This will not discourage me.

How old is the tank? What are your water parameter numbers like?

The tank is new. I didn't acclimate the fish first, I didn't check my parameters. My boyfriend was being impatient and dump the fish in the tank.

Wait, my fish wasn't dead. He went into the teeth of my overflow. Crockett and Tubbs are swimming together again
