First FOWLR Tank

I got bored with my tannin stained Geophagus tank and decided to go FOWLR with it. This is also my first attempt at a negative space aquascape. Smashing rocks was superfun. I'm digging the tank so far.

If you're going to call it a build thread, I should probably add some details. The tank was cycled with Prodibio Start Up, and Microbacter 7. I kept it unlit for the first four weeks to allow biofilms to accumulate on surfaces. I added four jars of Ecopods about two weeks in. I may or may not add coraline cultures. I've already innoculted coraline via snail shells.

Lighting is provided by a Glowrium strip light. I upped the white lights for color rendition in the photos. I'm running the lights bluer and dimmer than photographed while the tanks biome settles in. The last thing want to do is allow nuisance algaes to gain a foothold in a tank that will soon be unable to house much of a CUC.

The tank currently houses a dog conch, some banded trochus snails, an Imperator Angel from Sri Lanka, an Orange Spotted Blenny from the Maldives, and a Red Coris wrasse from Bali. I'm waiting for the baby Clown Trigger and Harlequin Tusk seasons to start in a month or two. Once those two fish are settled in, I'm going to add a Red Sea Desjar that's overgrown it's current home. After that, I'm going to try my hardest to avoid adding anything else.

The sump is a DIY 40 breeder made with an Eshoppes Cliff Hanger, some adjustable baffles I got from Ebay, and is powered by a Nyos 160. Nothing fancy, but it's quiet and works.

The fish list is in my last post. I might attempt a regal angel if the tank matures smoothly and nutrients don't become an issue. All these fish are small now but reach a decent size as adults. I want to leave them room to swim so I'm going to do my very best to avoid stocking the tank beyond what was already mentioned.

A couple chameleon tilefish could convince me to drop the clown trigger in exchange for them. They're are a bucket list fish for me. However, they are rarely collected and do not import well so the chances of that happening are pretty slim.
