first fraggy?

so while doing my water change tonight on the 72 I noticed a chunk of my pipe organ on the substrate with live polyps! I've been watching this little chunk hangin off kinda flappin in the breeze like for about a week and a half now, and I guess finally either a crab or snail pushed the thing off. Theres three little polyps on the thing so I'm thinking.. yaaay frag.

Since I'm new to this whole shindig and all I've done as far as fragging is read and place stuff in my tank I figured I'd turn to some experts. From my reading it seems that super glue gels are the choice and I did have some on hand that I purchased (cause I think ahead like that) so I suppose I was ready. I plopped the little guy in a sake cup (good for more than just drinking) to work with and just glued him to a peice of LR rubble that I had in my 10 gal culture tank.

Just cause I'm the way I am I'll probably give him an iodine dip using lugols later on, but I guess my big question is, am I missing anything? I really wanna see this pipe organ propogate, it's my second favorite coral next to my long tentacle plate!

Superglue gel works great for frags like SPS or LPS with stony skeletons. It won't work on rics, mushrooms or softies. Best thing for softies is to put it in a low flow area with rubble and let it attach itself. If you don't have a low flow area, then you can use the bridal veil to keep it attached.

I have some watermellon mushrooms and can get you some devil's hand leather, if you want.

I may take you up on that someday.... it chipped off with some of the pipe skeleton (hard) intact so I think I'm good. just for giggles though I think I'll put him in my low flow corner at first to make sure, then move him over where I want him after he's doing good.

Coincedentally I did have a green mushroom blowing around the tank for a while, I sorta stuffed him in a rock crevice and he seems to be happy and thought about gluing him..... Glad I got your advice before starting that shenanigans.
