I'm sooooooo excited. I just got back about 2 hours ago from my lfs with my first nps coral. Its a beautiful chili coral. I admit that it was totally an impulse buy because i went there to pick up the dendro they had but it was already sold, so i bought the chili instead. When i bought it, it was completely inflated with every single polyp extended. I hope i didnt bite off more thean i can chew with this coral. I have a 40 gallon cube with metal halides. I put it facing sideways near a decent amount of flow and dosed the tank with phyto-plankton and zoo-plankton. It has yet to open its polyps but it is still inflated. is there anything else i can do to help it thrive? When do you think it will open its polyps? Will it tolerate indirect light from MH?
PS: i have one other question. when i opened the bag i noticed the lfs had dropped a bit of coral glue on the fleshy part. Its not that big a spot but im still concerned. Will this be a problem or will it be allright?
Thanks
