It's three weeks now, and I've added a sponge filter in place of the air stone. I also added a few pvc pieces but they don't seem interested yet.

Yes they would, if they take it as a host. Problem is that Ocellaris natural host is a carpet not a BTA.

Got home tonight, and they are struggling. Maybe a dozen on the bottom not swimming. They look thin, so I'm feeding and doing water change. Amonia badge looks normal, but put a little amquel in.

So, I lost about a dozen little guys. The water change and feeding seemed to help. Now I'm going away for President's week, and just transferred the whole setup to my buddy Chris' house. Used a battery powered air stone for the drive over.

what do you have for air pumps in the tank? may need to up it a little now that they are bigger.

Thank you, Shifty, that makes sense. I only have the one airline going to the sponge filter. I'll add another air stone right away. At what point are they big enough to tolerate a little hob filter?

at around 1 month i add a small whisper hob filter or a canister filter and they do fine.
