Just to catch everything up..
Had freshwater tanks most of my life.
Dad always had Angelfish in planted tanks, as far back as I can remember...
Got out of it for around 12 years and then decided to start keeping some Oscars 2 years ago, now I have this one

Started looking at saltwater stuff early 2014.

Threw together a 40g breeder and it is my current tank.
Current critters are:
4 3-stripe Damsels
1 Clownfish
4 Turbos
1 Emerald Crab
1 Peppermint shrimp
1 Coral Banded shrimp
1 Fire shrimp
1 Fighting Tiger Conch
Around 10 Blue leg hermits
4 Tapestry snail
1 Bumblebee snail

Current Corals are:
Pulsing Xenia
Green Star Polyps
Red mushrooms
Blue mushroom
Large Paly/Zoa group on its own rock
20 polyp frag of Zoa
3 polyp frag of candy apple
Small frag of ricordia

Current Equipment is:
40g Breeder DT with DIY coast to coast overflow
10g sump with one big piece of macro-covered rock
Hydor Koralia Smart Wave
Two Koralia 425 nano powerheads
Two El-Cheapo powerheads
200 watt heater
Twin PFO 174w Metal Halide
Hydor Smart Level ATO
Got a skimmer but it wont fit in sump, need bigger sump.

In between the 10g and the 40g I wound up with a complete 190 setup (unseen)around sept 2014. After many delays I finally got to pick up the tank. It was a mess

It had been running for several months with no powerheads, no skimmer, and no maintenance, sitting in front of a window in direct sunlight, cause the lights quit on it.
The guy was trying to get out of the hobby and wanted it gone..
Got everything to the house and started cleaning.
Top portion of the tank was blistered and cracking from the Metal Halides sitting on top of the acrylic..
I have cut the tank down to 20" deep to use for a shallow tank (Anemones) it will be around 110 gallons..
The only equipment I could use was the lights (just needed bulbs) and the two pumps for return and skimmer feed. The three skimmers that were in the cabinet were missing a lot of pieces and were in bad shape so I tossed them..

took it a few hours to find a hiding spot,, got to do some reading on it...

Did those frags survive or did you add them after the major clean up?
That old set up was a horror show for sure.I freak if i have 3 grains of salt creep !! LOL
New to the board and welcome all input.
Thanks for the great resurrection project very rewarding .

James ,What happened to the Trigger ?
I think that is what I saw through the muck that is one strong fish to survive that horrible condition.
Guy really lost his desire and unfortunately the fish and everything else in the closed environment suffered.
Where you able to save anything besides a couple of pumps?
substrate,rocks,fish,.........ETC

Frags were added later, trigger went to LFS and found new home
Saved all pumps and rocks, Wound up cutting the tank up, it was scratched up way too bad
