Yup your right....it was huge....about the size of a softball !

Although the D1X don't worth much anymore, your brother is a very nice guy! The D1 series probably has the best AF motor in the whole Nikon lineup. It can crank a non AFS lens better than a D2 and even a D3.

Well since it was FREE as were all the lenses it's worth a ton to me as I have a great system that didn't cost me a dime ! I love using it and have been playing around with it during some quieter times on duty...I will stuff in my patrol bag and use it in the early morning at sunrise and at dusk too !
