I just got my first SPS coral. LFS says pink birds nest frag. It was 20 bucks and I've been wanting to try an SPS coral to see how it would do in my tank. I have a couple lps frags that are doing great and my nitrates are pretty low (between .5ppm and less than 5ppm). Tank's been established for a little over a year. Everything is going pretty good. Long story short if you guys want more tank info I'll be more than happy to provide it but my question is how does this piece look to an experienced SPS person? I've had it for 8 days and this is pretty much how it looked coming out of the frag tank at LFS. It has a little more polyp extension than it did at the store, especially on the top part of the branches that receive the most light. There didn't seem to much of any PE on the top of the branches at LFS. There's some slight color coming to it but I just was wondering what do you guys good, bad or otherwise? On a side note if i shine a flashlight on it when the lights are out it appears more pink than in the pics. I've seen absolutely beautiful pics of pink birds nest and this doesn't look anything close to that. Just wondering if I should keep it put, move it down or move it up.
