First tank bred fish

I got a couple of tank bred ocelaris for a small recently setup fowlr a week ago. One is standard and one is black/white. The bw is significantly larger (intentionally) and they seemed to form an immediate bond with nuzzling and rarely leaving each others side. It's a very attractive match up.

Anyway, they don't seem to be feeding very aggressively. I've been giving mostly cyclopeeze and flakes because they stay in the water column longest. They take the cyclops better than flakes, but neither get them excited, and the orange one in particular often spits the flakes back out. I didn't expect this behavior from tank bred fish. What am I missing?

Did you buy locally or mail order? Also, are they the only fish in the tank? I'm thinking it could either be shipping stress, or perhaps they're being bullied? Either way, they're tough fish that should do fine. Give it some time and try some small pellets.

I bought locally from a good store. They are the only fish in the tank. They are not tiny with the smallest at about 1.5" and the other about 2". Not too worried yet as they do eat, but wondered if I was missing something.
