first time anemone and clownfish. It looks like this most of the day and will disappear into the rock every day for a little while.
is this normal?

I have tried to feed it small pieces of silverside and it doesn't seem to really grab it and eat. I don't know if it ever eats it?

Is there some thing wrong with this nem.

The photo is so small, I can't identify it with any accuracy. A larger photo and more information about your tank would be helpful.

I am using 6x54 t5h0 for lights, it is a 90g.
probably about 25-30 lbs of live rock.
mp40wes for flow
apex jr/lunar module
a few sps,lps, and softies

It looks a Ritteri by the color but hard to tell from the photos. They didn't tell you what it was when you bought it ?

Water parameters ?

How long has it been in your reef ?

Size compared to when you bought it ? Assuming you bought it in person.

Looks like a Bta to me. How long have you had it? How long has your tank been up and running? What lights do you have? Anemones usually take a week or two to start looking normal after they are put into a new aquarium. Its generally agreed that feeding during these first two weeks can cause unnecessary stress.

it is a gbta. I bought it from reefs2go on feb 5. so it has only been in there 10 days
and I have ben trying to feed it during this time so alb 59 maybe right. it has ate but seemed more touchy after it did.

water parameters are unknown except salinity which is at 1.025.
I use a cal reactor for maintaining the rest so I only test for alk every once in a while.
as long as my corals don't show any problems I usually don't do anything

I think they are more interested in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. And some believe phosphate harms nems some don't believe it but it's good to keep it in line regardless.

Don't mess with it for awhile, let it do its thing.

I would say just give it some time to get comfortable. I actually just ignore mine and just let them do what they want. Sometimes they look great sometimes they look like crap.

I will try leaving it alone. from what u are saying im seeing the samething(
good days and bad days)
I'll take a water sample to the lfs and let them test my water param
my intention with the nem was to recreate the clownfish, nem pair.
but seems like my clowns want to hide from my tang

You want to keep an eye on ammonia more then anything. IME that causes the most real problems but they are temperamental and sturdy animals. Your clowns will find it eventually it just takes some time. Mine didnt go to it until about month 7 or 8.

I would maybe move that little rock in the front if it isnt attached. Get a better look at the mouth that way.
