First Time Macro Shots (pic heavy)

Hey guys. This is my first attempt at macro shots using a Nikon D70 and a Sony DSC-HX7V. The lens Im using for the Nikon is a telephoto lens with a macro setting (Im aware this isnt ideal). Some of my pictures coloring is off and Ive read that I need to adjust the white balance but Im not sure how (I use photobucket to host my pictures). Let me know what you think

The Sony does a pretty good job autofocusing and getting high speed shots, but its limited in its macro focus. The Nikon Ive been having trouble getting the macro shots super sharp and focused. Ive found that manually focusing it works better, but Im not sure how to get really good pics. On a side note I did use a tripod for all of these.
