After looking at all of the wonderfull nano's all over the place i got my old 10gal out and decided to give it a go myself. All of the sand and LR came from my 125g trigger/soft coral tank (still in progess), but im going to let it sit for a week or two before adding anything. i want to try an all natural filterless approach, so the only things in the tank as of now are:
-small powerhead, some cheapo (Elite) that i used to cure LR for my big tank
-10ish lbs of LR
-old overflow box as in tank refuge housing some rubble and chaeto
-heater
-very thin layer of sand, will add more to aid with bio filtration if the rock and chaeto cant handle it.
- two 19 watt PC's with zoo med 50/50 lights
this is all stuff ive had laying around for years, the lighting will be upgraded ASAP, aswell as replacing the current powerhead with something better, all to be done before adding fish, inverts or corals.
so, after all of that reading i would like some input on stocking, as i have never attempted to keep anything in a tank this small, especially using only the tank itself as the filtration.
i plan to add in this order
-2 blue leg hermits
-5 cerith snails
-1 turbo snail
-1 harlequin shrimp as i have asterina starfish that dont have a noticeable impact in my 125g, but i am worried about in a tank this small.
-1 purple firefish
-1 greenbanded goby
still no idea on corals
can i add more fish/inverts, or am i at the limit with what i want to do already, and are there any improvements i can make to my choices? any input and/or criticism is welcome, thanks!
