First Timer help please

So I've had a FOWLR tank for quite some time now and I am looking to get my first coral of some sort. Now, I currently have 2 strip floursecents and am looking to upgrade my lighting. I am going to get a 36" t-5 HO double fixture and am worried about the heat difference. My tank stays around 79 in summer and can't afford any more heat! is there a huge heat difference between T-5 and T-8?

For most sps you will need a lot of light, T5 would be a better way to go.
However I would suggest starting out with some easier corals before you buy some sps. Do your research.
