You can do that but I doubt that the superglue gel will hold very well on a leather (they slime a lot). You can always do the toothpick and thread trick though.

I would either use the toothpick or I have used a mesh net to hold the frag to the rock. Just use a rubber band to hold the mesh in place.

I've heard this method mentioned before. can someone go into more detail about "the toothpick metnod" ?

Stick a toothpick through the coral and tie it to a rock.

this is what i recomend when i frag out colts i usually cut past a y.you will not be able to glue the slime they produce ( from stinging you is so thick the glue will not hold. but go to walmart buy some cheese cloth cut it to go around the plug. cut a hole just big enough for the stalk to peek thru then rubber band around it. make sure you put him down sream because the slime will irritate your other corals. thanks fish

you can also take and cover the whole stalk with the cheese cloth just leave some slack for him to expand

so we bend the toothpick into an "L" shape and rubber band or
quick tie the toothpick to the rock while the other end is in the
stalk of the coral? Then that new piece will ahere to the new rock?Do I have it????

afterthought on original question....so it is ok to cut that whole
piece off the rock at the stalk? almost to the rock with a sharp razor blade?

Thank you...
