Fish additions?

Hi, I have a two year old 75 gallon SPS reef with a 25 gallon sump and ASM G1x skimmer. I run GFO in a BRS reactor and have a DSB with macro algae in the sump. The display has a 2-3" sand bed. I am having a hard time deciding on one or two new fish to add after I had to get rid of a maroon clown that had become too mean.

Current fish:
orange spot goby
2 resplendent anthias
bellus angel
leopard wrasse (m. meleagris)

Fish I like:
mccoskers wrasse
red head solon fairy wrasse
exquisite wrasse
possum wrasse
any basslet
purple tilefish (don't know much about these but saw one on LA DD and thought it was cool)

My main concerns are getting a fish that won't bully my current fish and that won't be bullied by the bellus. Also fish that won't compete with the leopard for pods. What do you think? Thanks.

similar tank, following this for help on mine, mainly curious about the tilefish, looks cool.

EDIT: some fish i have in my 75 reef that you dont are a sixline, yellow tang, 1 chromis, maroon clownfish, fiji blue devil, and a firefish. thinking of adding 2 jawfish to mine (i have a DSB) and some bangaii cardinalfish. just a reference for ya.

Birch,

I was just commenting on my possum wrasse in another thread. They are really neat, small, fun to watch fish. With your current fish it would be compatible.

Palmer, you have some semi-aggressive fish, and would not recommend it for you though. The clown, sixline, and fiji devil are all known "punks" off the reef tank

For the OP, the only likely aggressive fish is: red head solon fairy wrasse. Also, over time, its colors will diminish without a female.

Palmer, it does sound like you have quite an aggressive tank right now. I had to recently remove my maroon clown after over three years because it decided to start tearing apart my torch coral. It was also starting to bully my other fish way too much.

snorvich,
Thanks for the advice on the red head solon fairy wrasse.

I checked into the possum wrasse some more and I am too concerned about it feeding on the creatures in my tank and depleting the supply for the leopard wrasse.

My possum wrasse is in with a variety of leopard wrasses and a scooter blenny BUT that tank is about 3 times larger than yours and has a 40 gallon refugium.

Thank you, I think I will definitely stay away from other fish with the same dietary requirements as the leopard. I think I am leaning heavily towards the mccoskers and either a swissguard basslet or chalk bass.

Well in that tank I have a candy basslet which I can heartily recommend. McCoskers, especially if paired, are excellent.

yes i know all three of those have iffy backgrounds. currently im debating on removing the maroon and replacing with percs because i do read terror stories bout them but i have yet to read of a terror story when the maroon DOES NOT have a mate or an anemone. do you think the maroon will become a terror if kept single? if so how can i remove it? i have another tank ready for it.

i have yet to have problems with the sixline and fiji devil but ill watch them, ive raised the wrasse since it was 1" long (full grown now) and havent had a problem with the fiji in its previous tank that i own.

palmer373, why not start your own thread? The original poster has a different situation than yours.
