hello all :)

so here is the list of fish I have in a 65 G, need to know if I'm overstocked or if I can fit more lol just opinions I guess.

so I have 1 orange F par clown fish
1 black and white Clownfish
2 bangaii cardinals
1 yellow tang
1 blue tang
1 lawnmover blenny
1 mandarin goby.

no3 is undetectable, tank is ran on Zeo and multiple DSBs, so water quality is not an Issue. maybe more fish would help my SPS too.

any Idea on what would be a nice addition ?

second question, my clowns have been together for a year and still arent paired, what will happen if I put in another F parc clown fish in there ? a really small one, will there be chance of it mating with one of my clowns ? hopefuly the black one ?

also, have ALOT of sponges growing in the tank, about 7 different types of sponge, growing daily ! any reef safe fish that would graze on sponges to keep them in check ? (as wrong as this question sounds, lol, I had to ask) maybe a dwarf angel ?

thanks in advance :)

would a moorish Idol be a stupid purchase ?

the tank has about 100 lbs of Live rock and SPS tank so flow is high MP40 100% flow/

Sometimes clowns can take years to mature and pair. As long as they aren't killing each other I wouldn't be concerned.

Both of your tangs will need new homes. A 65 is just too small in the long run. Also, yes, a moorish idol would be a very bad decision. I haven't checked the thread on them in this forum for awhile, but I believe those that have had actual success with the fish have them in 300+ gallon systems.

Good options for fish that should graze on the sponges would be any dwarf angel. I would keep in mind that they have the possibility of nipping and if you're okay with taking that risk, go for it.

Yes you are overstocked. Yes the moorish idol would be a 'stupid purchase'. I'd remove the tangs from the 65 gallon tank if it were me. They need much much much bigger quarters.

thanks guys :)

the tangs are still very small, and are fine in the 65G, I have the new 7 foot tank ready, hoping I can bring it in this weekend :)

I came across the morish Idol thread here after posting and yea seems like even my next 7 foot wont be a right size for them.
