Fish and lighting question?

I am going to pick up some flame wrasses hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I will be socially acclimating them in this:

I am wondering if it will be ok at the top of the tank about 8-10" under the lights, PVC will be in it for them to hide, or if that will be too much light for them. I see my other fish swim at the very top right under the lighting but not for prolonged periods of time. I can lower it about half way down the tank, but feeding and what not, seem like it may be more difficult. I can not lower it all the way because of the LR.
I would prefer they are out more instead of hiding all the time so that my Purple Tang and Exquisite Wrasse will see them and accept them. Thanks, Dave

Looks like fish prison. :lolspin:

can you put some rocks or PVC pipes in there for them to hide and get some shade. If that's the case, you should be fine.

Thanks, yeah I think I mentioned PVC in the OP, but I definitely plan to. A question on that, should I go with elbows or just straight pieces? Or does it even matter? I know, probably a dumb question, but I definitely want to be prepared when I get these guys...Thanks, Dave♦

My experience is that elbows are better if that is doable as it seems to give the fish more security. Especially valuable with male flame wrasses. But if not any pvc will do.

Cool thanks, have not bought anything yet so anything is doable. I have a 4ft piece of 1" pvc I was thinking I'd cut down, but I want the best possible option to keep them the least stressed. Thanks for the reply. I'll pick up a couple next time I am at HD..
