fish availability

Hi guys,
Just had a question about a fish on your site.

I signed up for email notification for a tamarin wrasse when it appeared on your site 8-10 months ago? ( has it been that long?, not sure)
I never received any email regarding it coming in. Thinking maybe the computer lost my request, I resubmitted it a few months ago and again no response as of yet.
Do you get this fish in and I have simply been lost in the shuffle?
If so how can I sign up to be notified again?

Thanks in advance.

Pondfrog,

Thank you for your post. We are sorry that you have not received an email notification in regards to the Blue Striped Tamarin Wrasse. This fish is categorized as rare and is difficult acquire. The availability of specimens is dependent on what we have available in our aquatics center, and this depends on what we are able to harvest from the wild and which tank raised specimens are available at the time. Our holding facility does receive daily shipments, so the stock can change from day to day. We are unable to give you a specific date as to when we will have the specimen in stock.

We understand that you have signed up for an email notification when this specimen does become available. If you have a filter on your email account it is a possibility that your server may filter the email notification directly to your trash bin. This is common using email accounts such as Yahoo, Hotmail, or AOL. As you have already signed up for a notification, an email will be sent as soon as the fish is available in our holding facility. Otherwise, the availability of the Blue Striped Tamarin Wrasse can be checked on our site at the following link: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=2201&N=0. We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Hi Leah,
Thanks for your response, no confusion caused.
And I understand you have no idea when they will be coming in, I like the idea you even take requests for in stock notification, it's very helpful.

I know it's not my email as I have received several "in stock" emails from you in the past.

I guess I was just curious if in fact you have ever had it in-- or just were planning on it at some point, it would just help me know what the chances are of ever getting one.

On a related note, how do I know if I would be getting a female or a male as it is not noted on the site a difference? And if I was interested in a pair how could that be accomplished?
THanks

Pondfrog,

We apologize we are unable to guarantee the gender you would receive as this will vary with what is available in our holding facility. The items we offer are in their juvenile state and it is almost impossible to determine their sex. When deciding to breed a specific species we do recommend placing an order for 4 or more of the specimen. This will increase the chances that you do receive a male and a female. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Happy Reefing,

Leah B.
