hi, my brother is starting up a predetory tank and wants to ask if it is ok for him to feed a snowflake eel and a niger trigger fishing bait such as squid, white bait and prawns from a gas station or would it be better for him to buy specialy prepared food from the lfs?

any other suggestions for food are greatly appreciated.

its all good as long as nothing has been added to it ( chemicles/ additives ) what size is this tank

A lot depends on the quality of that bait. How fresh it was before being frozen, how well it's been stored etc. A friend of mine runs a bait and tackle place and his squid is good enough for calamari, but he gets it fresh from a fisherman locally.

you are safer with "human consumption" grade seafood. however, if you can confirm the bait is fresh (or get some of it live) and not collected in polluted waters, you should be fine.

sometimes, if I can get good bait, or collect it myself, I feed it for variety. most of what I feed comes from the seafood counter at one of our better grocery stores.
