Fish behavior and spots

Been mulling this over for about three days and decided to throw it out there: my firefish started striking the substrate a week ago, then my royal gramma the same as well as the LR. Both appear to have stopped this behavior, but the gramma has worn a side (term?) fin to strands. There are white specks on the inside glass of my tank but don't seem to be on the fish. So, am I dealing with ich or are the specks on the glass salt from poor mixing? (BTW, I did read the ich articles). Thanks all.

Look closer at the glass as these are some small invert/pod also referred to as fauna or microfauna. You should be able to see them move. Try at night with the aid of a flashlight.

The irritation on your fish could have been a number of issues; when in doubt conduct a small water change of at least 10% and ensure the filters/skimmer are clean.
