Fish by mail

It seems like all the fish I really want I can only find online. I dont know how I feel about shipping a fish. I do realize that all the fish I have were shiped at one time.

Are there any fish that dont ship well that I should stay away from. I would think that coral is not as risky to ship.

Anyone have alot of good expierence with this or any tips for me.

Some corals are worse to ship than fish actually. Ive had good luck with reefhotspot , LA and DD. All of them pack very professionally the fish arrived in perfect health. Ive ordered venustus angel, multibar angel and a bunch or corals. Im sure there are places to stay away from but i do not know any names. I hear Anemones ship rough but ive never ordered one. I will be when i do an upgrade though. Id much rather order from a place such as DD or RHS where i know i am getting something healthy. This dosnt mean you shouldnt quarantine though.

It has been my experience that I generally receive healtier fish online than at my local stores. My reasoning is that the online vendors know that you are unsure about the process and pick out the healthiest specimens to ship, thereby earning your repeat business. Of course, there are some vendors who just don't care, but it is pretty rare. If you stick to the better known sites, you should be just fine.

all your local fish stores get them that way they get delivered by fedex or ups to them if that eases you by getting by mail

I have had excellent experience with Divers Den. Packing is incredible.

+1 on Divers Den. By far the best guarantee and quarantine process. I would recommend having your shipment 2 be held @ your local Fed Ex facility, so u can pick them up first thing in the morning instead of having your animals sit on the truck for a few hours. I had problems with my local Fed Ex delivery trucks delivering them @ 4:00 - 5:00 pm and thus the fish and corals were on the truck for an extra 9 hours.

Is Divers Den the one on Live Aquaria? When I google it I find a bunch of diver shops.

divers den #1 on my list and blue zoo is really close behind . yes some fish are very poor shippers and you should purchase them from a online store such as live aquaria as they have an "arrive alive stay alive for 14 day " guarantee ,which is great ! just be sure that the fish you are purchasing is covered by their guarantee as some are not but most are .

Can anyone tell me about NYAquatic? They have a fish I want but how are they on shipping? Will be going to my Florida aquarium

i have had very good results from them as i have used them two times . his shipping ~ packaging was very good . i always have them send it fed-ex and also have them hold it at the facility so i can pick them up at 8;30am which works out well for me .

How is the packing compared to LA? The fish is close to 10"....

Same here. The customer service is also outstanding.

+1... DD is impressive and shipping is free on 225 or more so if your getting some rare fish you probably wont pay shipping or you can group buy w someone to get to the 225 and get the free overnight shipping. Either way a great deal

LA is 100% top notch IMO and im pretty sure that everyone would agree with me .again i have had good experiences with mike from NY aquatic .
