fish compatibility for reef

Hi there, is there a list of fish that are compatible for reef aquariums? I see a lot of these TOTM and see people keeping fish that are generally considered not reef safe, like angles and leopard wrasse and even butterfly fish. What's the secret in keeping these beautiful fish?

In my experience a well fed angel does not eat corals, it may nip one occasionally, but they are no where near the reef destroying monsters some make them out to be. Having said that every fish is different, I may have just gotten lucky, some fish just want to eat corals, but there is an exception to every rule

i just put in two acro and they have tissue missing from the bottom, not sure if its tissue necrosis or if something is eating it, I've seen my flame angle nipping at it, but its weird. I just put one in last night and the other two or three days ago. Any suggestions?

No way we can give advice without knowing all your water parameters, it could be the angel though
