Fish delivery rescheduled

Hi guys, so I had placed an order for a few fish last week 1 of which was a flame angel. He was smaller than I thought he'd be and unfortunately didn't survive the trip.

LA was great and gave me credit for the loss, well I ordered a replacement flame angel (medium size this time) on Wednesday but was too late for Thursday delivery and he was supposed to be delivered today. He never showed, I checked the tracking number and the exception read 'was unable to load package on plane as scheduled, rescheduling delivery'

nothing has been updated since then. I called LA immediately and they are looking into it but they are telling me that UPS usually tries to deliver the next business day. which is Monday...

my question is, what are the chances that a medium sized flame angel will survive in a bag until Monday?

edit: forgot to mention that I have asked LA that if the shipment happens to come in later today or tomorrow that they have the package held at my local UPS hub and I'll pick up. I tried calling UPS myself but they said that the shipper has restricted any delivery changes so LA has to be the one to request the local pick up.

Possible, but sadly not likely. Understand that some planes are being routed to try to get people out of harms' way and trouble at one airport even far away may mean a no-show in some other hub;. I'd call them and ask them to wait.

sorry, ask who to wait? LA? they've already started shipping, the package is in Louisville Kentucky.

and I totally get that they want to get people out of harms way first, absolutely but this sounds like the package didn't get to the plane in time more so than they needed the plane to get people out.

Luckily LA said they would cover the loss of the fish if it doesn't make it but still its a live animal, I'd hate to think its suffering.

A similar thing once happened to me. Package still arrived to my local UPS store on Saturday. But of course they did not considered a Saturday delivery because "I did not paid for that service", funny... I wasn't reimbursed on next day air shipment coming late either...

Anyway, I went to the store that my package arrived. Of course they didn't want to give it to me and said it is in one of the truck and they cant find it right now. Long story short, after and heated argument they checked a truck, surprise surprise it was in the first truck they checked, they must be really lucky.

So if it arrives to UPS on Saturday, you can go and pick it up. Although they might not want you to, you can.

if your package is here in Louisville i would call UPS BACK and see if they will escalate your shipping because Its Live fish. They can reach anywhere in the world from here next morning delivery.. of course it depends on where you are as far as your Cities Airport and ups local office.

Louisville is UPS WORLD HUB

Ok quick update on what went down over the past 72 hours...I was in communication with LA Friday afternoon, the woman there was very nice and compassionate. She had told me that either LA or UPS would call me Saturday morning to let me know where I can pick up the shipment, she also said that if I don't hear from either of them by 9am to call LA back and find out what's going on. Saturday morning comes around, 9am comes and goes and like I figured I didn't get a phone call. So I called LA and the gentleman again very courteous had told me the best thing to do would be to call UPS and see if I can pick up at me local hub, if not the fish would be covered of course.

So I called UPS and the woman there didn't seem to have a clue, she told me that the package was at Boston Logan and wouldn't arrive in Shrewsbury (my local hub) until Monday the 11th. I couldn't believe they would leave the package at the airport all weekend. I fought with her a bit on this but didn't get very far. So I let it be, at around 10:34am I got a text from UPS of an attempted delivery, the original destination was my work place because I didn't want the package sitting out in the hot sun while I was at work. Had I known they were going to attempt delivery on Saturday I would have driven to my place of business and met up with the driver. So next attempt is Monday the 11th, today.

I got the package finally and I figured for sure that the fish was going to be a goner. I opened the package and looked inside the still closed bag and lo and behold there he was still swimming around. I knew time was of the essence so I quickly drove home during lunch and got him all situated in his own tank ready to start his regiment of TTM.

My hat goes off to LA, they sure do have some healthy specimens and know how to pack a fish. Now I just hope that he didn't get any kind of ammonia poisoning that ends up killing him over time...

Glad it all went well..
Never 100% believe anything UPS tells you.. Same with FedEx..

Any "exception" and you can just about guarantee any further tracking information is going to be incorrect..
