Fish Developing Resistance to Ich

This is probably somewhere on the forum but knowing the ich's life cycle of reinfecting swimming fish and falling off and staying on the glass, how does QT guarantee the fish is ich free?

If you treat with hypo or cupramine or coppersafe for that matter for 8 weeks, it kills all the ich and its offspring and outlasts the entire life cycle of the ich.

What if you don't treat prophylactically in QT?

I ask because I have a little dwarf angel in QT and someone told me they are prone to parasites. I've got prazipro on hand but would rather not treat unless there's an overwhelming advantage to.

Technically he could be carrying ich. However during the stress of acclimation and the first few days in QT, in most cases he would show signs if he was carrying. This is why very close observation is extremely critical during the QT phase.
