Fish disappeared!

Hi. I have a 60g reef tank, and one of my fish has just disappeared. In my tank I have 2 firefish gobies, a sand sifter goby, a cleaner shrimp, and an African cleaner wrasse. When I came home today my cleaner wrasse (who has had no problems at all) was hiding away in a rock, not moving very much. When I went to test the water after watching him for some time, he just disappeared. My water parameters are all good, and he used to be 'in charge' of the tank, so bullyings out of the question. He was very active, so I was hoping someone could help me figure out what is wrong. Thanks for any help!

is your tank covered? did you check the floor all around the tank? if you didn't find him carpet surfing, he may have ended up in your overflow or found his way to your sump, assuming you have a sump.

I had this same exact problem this morning! I was losing my mind looking for it. Little blue damsel, couldn't find him anywhere.. Finally after about 4 hours, he just appeared, out of the rock. He has a wound on his head, but I am starting to think he was hiding from the yellowtail damsel I have in there also. The yellowtail is turning out to be a big butthole.
I hope you found your fish. :)
