Hopefully someone can help me what has spread to my DT. its affecting 1/2 of my tang population, one of my large angels, my harlequin tusk and melanarus and 1/2 of the dwarf angels. Triggers, parrotfish and clowns are unaffected. The Fish that are affected are very lethargic, scratching, have cloudy eyes and not really wanting to eat. Hiding during the day when lights are on and when anyone walks in front of tank. I took pics of my Naso and vlamingi as its easier to see on them. Other fish affected have color loss and look "faded", is the best way I can describe

Reclusive, light avoiding behavior is usually indicative of velvet (oodinium) and when coupled with a "faded" appearance is pretty much a certainty.

Not sure , but I can say this feeding your fish with Vitamins added helps , gives them the strenght to pull through Good luck !!!

Um...no. Vitamins will not help in the event this is velvet. When was the last time you added anything (corals, invert, fish, LR, etc) to the tank? How long have you had the fish?

All fish have been with me for a range of 6 months to 3 years. I added a clown tang from my lfs and removed it for other reasons. I'm guessing it's from the clown tang.

I have a good relationship with my LFS and they hold fish for me for a month before I take them home. Although the tanks are not medicated. So after he held the clown tang for a month I added it to my DT. This was 3 weeks ago. As of this morning I lost the Melanarus and a potters angel.

Unfortunately I dont have a QT or time to set one up right now. I am goin to try and treat the display with Cupramine to save the fish that are left. I will remove my 3 anemones and the gorgs I have and see how it goes. I have read of others having success treating their display fowlrs with the only negative being they had to use more than the usual amount of cupramine.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Why are you arbitrarily throwing copper in? Do you have a definite diagnosis? I would not treat the main with copper. Do you have LR? If so it will absorb the copper which affects it's efficacy. Also you won't be able to put corals or inverts back into the tank. Also be aware that angels are sensitive to copper.
As far as the LFS quarantining your fish that is a moot point. You have no idea who or what access people have to that tank. Only trust your quarantine process. So that being said after 3 weeks they started to show symptoms. Do you know if the LFS runs low levels of copper? If so that can mask symptoms of velvet.
Are the fish scratching, showing any spots? How is their breathing?

Frankly, a QT is a requirement for long-term success in this hobby. It doesn't need to be complicated -- just a 10 or 20g tank, heater and filter. If you're limited on space, a closet will serve as a temporary space in a pinch.

after reading many stickies and articles on the symptoms of velvet, i am positive its velvet. I have Cupramine, a seachem test kit, and an ammonia alert badge on hand. so after work today i will be removing approx 80% of the live rock, and begin treating the display.
