Fish drinking water.

I know this is not really the right forum but it kind of relates to fish breeding and my hopes of solving some pathology issues.

I really respect and value your opinion.

I was curious if you knew if the salt gravity affects the amount of water a fish drinks when it is osmosregulating itself?

Any advice, or links, maybe a place to start looking for more info would be great.

as far as i know, fish have a specialized cell found somewhere in their gills called "chloride cells" that help with osmoregulation. In saltwater fish, the chloride cells are able to remove the salt from water when they are drinking the water.
It is possible to make an assumption that fishes may have to drink more water if concentration of salt is too high. More water will leave the body because of the high salt and fish will have to drink more water to maintain its ion concentration.
