Ok, here's my set up. Mixed 125 reef tank dominated by SPS corals. All corals look great and all the parameters are testing to be near perfect.
Calcium, Magnesium, Nitrates, Phosphates and zero Ammonia.
I've had the tank up and running for a year now with no major issues.
The first fish I lost was a Percula clown that I've had for 9 months, it just disappeared one night last week. I assumed it went carpet surfing and became a Scooby snack for my dog. 2 days later my Kole Tang looked like it was starving and stayed hidden underneath the caves of the rock work. 2 days later I found it dead in the same spot it had been hiding. Today I came home and found that much Springer damsel was missing. It never showed any signs of bad health.
I have a grounding probe and have check for stray current with it pluged in and with it disconnected, everything looks fine with it.
My first guess was flukes for the way the Tang looked, but like I said everything else looks fine and then just disappears.
My live stock consist of.
1 Pistol shrimp
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
1 Percula Clown
1 Starry Blenny
1 very small Six Line Wrasse
3 Scarlet Hermits
And a pile of various types of snails.
I've never delt with flukes, so what do I need to look for to see if that's what it is or to rule it out? If it is Flukes is there a reef safe way to treat for them in the tank with corals.
Thanks for your help, if I lose another fish my 4 year old daughter is going to strangle me in my sleep.
