Fish dying

I started a thread in the new to hobby section before I realized this for was here.

A few days ago I lost a jawfish to what I though was ick but now I'm not so sure.

Now my clown seemed to have brooklynella, film over his skin like a mucus breathing heavy with a few spots. His in my QT tank but his symptoms have changed. Now he has a few large yellow raised bumps and some cuts on his skin. Here are some pics, if anyone can tell me what changed that would be great. I've had this fish almost 4 years.

pics.

No captive breed, had him for a long time with no issues until now. I guess I just thought brook was a slime coating vs. this.

This is actually my first round of disease. The jewfish died within 24 hours but my clown has been in qt with copper for maybe 4 days.

I read formalin and copper don't mix, would I need to do a 100% water change do use formalin?

Either that, or remove the copper using Cuprasorb or Poly-filter, then use the formalin. You can still do the formalin dips in a separate container while the Cu is being removed from the QT (per the article linked above). Then add the formalin to the QT once the Cu is removed. The dips will give the fish relief while you remove the Cu from the QT.

UPDATE:

Fish is doing well, he's got some battle scars but they are healing up. he's been in QT for 2 weeks now, i'm thinking another 2 weeks before I put him back in the main system? I have a firefish in the DT that has shown no signs of sickness and would be a real pain to try and capture so I left him there.

should I keep treating with formalin every 2 days or should I just let him recover with no meds?
