Fish eggs?

Can someone with more experience tell me if they recognize the attached picture? I thought it was some snail trail in the glass and tried to clean it but it came off fast and it was quickly consumed by the fish. Luckily?! some of it is left over you can see it in the pic.

I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't look like fish eggs of any kind to me.
