I think my naso tang was burned. My mom called and said she may be struggling. I think my heater burned her. How can I help?

Get a ranco controller for your heater

That's terrible! I can't say that I "know" how to handle such a situation, but I can only imagine keeping your water parameters spot-on during the healing process will help. There may be some kind of water treatment/medication out there to help with healing, but I don't know. Good luck.

You may want to add Stress Coat with Aloe Vera. However, I'm not sure if it's reef safe, you might have to dose it in a qt tank:

Also, carefully monitor for developing infections. Burns are prone to to it.

In the future, id recommend keeping the heater in the sump.

Not all tanks have sumps.....


They make a marine Melafix that is reef safe it helped out my Lubbock's That Fish Place ( my lfs) carries it are you far away from it ? ( Its in Lancaster, PA)

Most tanks big enough to house Naso have a sump.
