About 5 years ago I lost a huge porcupine puffer who was 7" long. He was my only fish and I had him in college for 4 years in my 90 gallon. He moved with me 3 times. He "puffed" when he died and was too big for the porcelin God. He is the only fish of mine that ever got a proper burial.

It might just be me, but the fish aren't the focus of my tank... more of a distraction. When a fish dies, it just gives the rock a chance to recoup from being constantly picked on. No big loss.

Well we usually have a little get together and talk about the fish first over an assortment of appetizers. We then move to the backyard where someone who knew the fish well gives a eulogy. If it is an open casket then we view the body. We then lower the tiny casket into the ground and say our final farwells. Once that is complete the family wears black for a predesignated 3-day morning period during which time we ofter fondly reminise about the deceased.

If you flush it, make sure it is a small fish so it doesn't get stuck. lol. I prefer the garbage if it is too cold to stick it in the garden...everything in the garden seems to grow better when a fish dies...lol

I don my formal [bath]robes and give the body of the deceased to the porcelain alter. I then carefully observe all of the water testing rituals. It is a somber time, but gives hope for the future by reduction in tank biomass.

Beats me. My cleanup crew usually gets a snack.

I take it to the local taxidermist and have it stuffed, then I let the kids in the neighborhood take it for show and tell. Also, when the other fish are behaving badly I show them the stuffed version and tell them see what happened to Juno, you could be next if you don't stop harassing the others!!

Actually, I go into a deep depression and convince myself it's all my fault, I'm a fish killer....ahhhhhhh say it isn't so!
