Fish injured in pump intake--please advise

I just watched them for about 15 minutes this morning, and here is what I found:

1) The small one is darting around a good bit, but i didn't notice any scratching. I think the larger one darted a few times, but not as much as the smaller one.

3) Aside from the darting, they are acting and breathing fine. They ate a little, but not as eagerly as usual. However, I sometimes get this response in the mornings.

2) They might have a light dusting on them, but it's really hard to see. Since the API General Cure is a powder that you just dump in, is it possible that they have this on them? Or is this just wishful thinking?

Since I saw the behavior yesterday morning, but not evening, I think my first course of action is going to be a water change to try to get the meds out.

An hour after the water change and carbon filter added, they are still darting around. They aren't scratching, but the darting still bothers me. Their breathing is fine. They still have a possible light powdering on them.

So, I am planning to do a dip after work today, unless I see a drastic change. Do you think the paraguard will be fine, or do I need to run to my lfs after work and get something else? Also, should put something else in the tank, or just do the dip and return them to an untreated tank.

I really hate treating when I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but it seems that darting and possible powder is definitely some form of parasite. So as long as I'm treating a range of that, it would be a good route, right?

I only changed 25% of the water. Will this and a carbon filter be enough to get the meds out?

If the fish were healthy prior they usually survive stuff like this, for example in my fw tank I have a catfish that tried to swim through a little boat decoration but was too big and couldn't get out so my dad cut it in half with a dremel I think and the fish survive with a nasty wound on his side for a few weeks but he was still an awesome fish after the incident

Thanks, juniorrocketdad. The fish has actually completely recovered from the injury. I got a bit (a lot) off topic when they became ill shortly after.
