i had two mated clowns a yellow watchmen goby an emerald crab and a LTA,BTA, and a coral beauty everything was fine until i introduced the LTA my goby vanished into thin air and then 4 days later the smaller of my clowns also disappeared. i noticed that each time a fish disappeared the LTA was excreting waste. i have a 50 gallon tank ...is it possibal that the LTA ate them or was it the emerald crab?

1) Are you sure it's an emerald crab? I haven't seen an emerald crab take out a fish, and I had two large ones.. They couldn't even catch my 5 month old baby clown.... they weren't even close...

2) There is always a chance that one of the nems ate the fish, but it's a slimmer chance.

3) Where did you get your live rock from? It's possible there is something else lurking around.

A large emerald crab can catch fish when they are sleeping.

I imagine they can, just saying my experience, they were utterly useless at hunting anything in my tank, even when everyone was sleeping. I'm just saying, chances are it's not an emerald that is causing fish to dissapear.

Lta?

Lta?

the emerald about the size of a half dollar but the LTA is quite large im leaning towards it being the LTA

I personally would think its the crab over the nem. Ive seen a good size emerald crab grab a fish, kill it eat some of it, and the rest of the clean up crew take care of the rest.

but both times i have seen brown mass come out of the LTA? wouldnt that be waste after eating? or sumthing else??....he allso doesnt seem to intrested during feeding time??
