You're welcome. My pleasure!
The contents of HBH 8 Veggie Flakes:
". . .spirulina algae, spinach, green pea, alfalfa, romaine lettuce, zucchini, kale, and carrot."
I'm not in favor of it. I know of no carrots growing in any coral reef or ocean. Same for kale, zucchini, etc. The only thing found in the sea on that list is spirulina. The rest are what I call 'artificial naturals.'
I'd choose marine algae (Ocean Nutrition, Two Little Fishes, etc.), Formula 2, or spirulina flakes over that product for my marine fishes.
Choose only brine shrimp that are gut loaded. Anything else is a loss of good money and too low in nutrition. Give up the use of Daphnia. Only feed bloodworms once or twice every 21 feedings. These are not sea foods and although they bring some nutrition to your fishes, they are not the right kinds of nutrition.
A fish that is 'ravenously' eating may not just be hungry, it may be trying to obtain the nutrition it needs but isn't getting from the foods being offered.
Aquarists often boast that, "My fish eats like a pig," but that isn't necessarily a good thing. It could be eating that way because it is starving for the nutrients not provided. Think about it!
